PROFINET in Process Control... Start here...

PROFINET has been introduced into PCS 7 since the start of PCS 7 V8.0. The use of PROFINET creates new architectural possibilties in order to connect IO in a more flexible way consisting of potential combinations of star, line and ring architectures.

The upcoming V9 (summer 2017) will further improve PROFINET usage by adding CiR support (Configuration in Run) and physical double redundancy. Certain industries already use the advantages of PROFINET today.

Want to know more, have a look here. Your result:

    • Quick development of PROFINET know-how
    • Description of typical scenarios (configuration, commissioning, integration)
    • Reduction of the planning and configuration overhead.

All your relevant process control data in the palm of your hand...

More and more there is need to have all data available at any time anywhere. Mobile devices play a crucial role into achieving this quite clearly. But how do you do it safely and secure in order to not interfere with the overall availability of the system.

Once the architecture is put in place this working methodology enables a higher degree of flexible process control.

More information can be found in the application note here.

    With the following advantages:

    • Selection assistance for a suitable remote app
    • Instructions for the initialization of remote access and operating tips
    • Reduced planning and configuration work

Monitor your power supply inside your DCS in 1..2..3

The PROFINET enabled Power Supplies of the SITOP family have a ready to use library for the integration inside PCS 7. This will give you the possibilty to monitor the status of your redundancy, buffering and selectivity features of the SITOP portfolio range.

You'll find block icons and faceplates, so the integration is done in a wink.
Even better news, the library is free of charge

Application Note can be found here.
