Siemens at the Nor-Shipping 2017

Oslo, Norway. “A smarter journey” is Siemens’ slogan for this year's Nor-Shipping week in Oslo, which counts as one of Scandinavia’s leading maritime exhibitions and is among the most important platforms for the maritime industry. As an expert partner to the maritime sector, from May 30 until June 2, 2017 Siemens will be showcasing its wide range of solutions for shipyards and operators to sustainably improve the environmental impact and cost efficiency of shipping operations as a whole.

At the event, we will be focusing on green drive technologies: We will demonstrate how our variable-speed propulsion technology BlueDrive PlusC saves costs, increases safety and reduces emissions. Our totally integrated automation and integrated drive systems portfolio will be showcased using an interactive display, and we will also be demonstrating how to bridge the gap between engineering and automation with our Cosmos lifecycle management and Simatic PCS 7 distributed control system software. Also featured will be MindSphere – our open, cloud-based Internet of Things operating system. MindSphere connects your systems and infrastructure to the digital world for unprecedented access to information and efficiency gains. Visit booth A22 in the Disruptive Sustainability Hall to learn more.

Under the banner of “Disruptive Sustainability”, the international meeting of industry players will showcase the potential offered by technical developments. One key focus will be alternative drives for use in marine transportation. New maritime technologies and solutions will be presented over the event’s six halls, and more than 30,000 Scandinavian and international visitors are expected to attend. In addition to the exhibition area with its different national pavilions, special industry zones and “theme parks”, the event features an extensive conference program.
