GIT Security Award 2014 – And the winner is … Sirius 3SK1
Flashing lights, applause and happy prizewinners. Just in time for the industry’s leading trade fair, the SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg, Siemens was presented with the GIT Security Award 2014. First presented in November 2012, its Sirius 3SK1 safety relays received the majority of the votes in the reader"s survey category Safe Automation. “Our entire team was absolutely thrilled, especially since this award is based on the votes of users. Receiving this many votes for Sirius 3SK1 from our customers is a very special honor,” as Marco Hoffmann and Martina Truckses explain. The marketing and product managers accepted the award on Tuesday as representatives of the whole team.
If you wish to personally compliment the Sirius team, you can find the colleagues at the Siemens booth in hall 2 both today and on Thursday, the last day of the fair. There, you’ll find Siemens safety experts in the Industrial Controls area ready to answer all of your questions. “I always enjoy being on duty at our booth at SPS IPC Drives, because of the many interesting discussions with users,” Truckses comments. Together with her colleague Marco Hoffmann, she covers Sirius 3SK1 safety relays for the Control Components and Systems Engineering Business Unit. “A great thanks to all of the users who voted for us and to the organizers from GIT. It’s a great experience to have your product awarded,” adds Hoffmann. “It’s so good to see that the new safety relays have established themselves so well within the market during the last couple of months.”
What is the secret of success behind Sirius 3SK1?
When asking about the secret for the success of the now award-winning safety devices, Truckses points out the combination of flexibility and ease of use: “The product series is set up as a clear and modular system, enabling plant operators to put together a safe and suitable configuration for every application in a fast, simple and cost-effective way.” The product can be used in various industries and applications. “Typically, Sirius 3SK1 is used for simple safety requirements like emergency stops or safety door monitoring,” Hoffmann explains. You can find out more about Siemens industrial safety and security solutions at our booth, or visit the Sirius Safety Systems website on the Internet.
The GIT Security Award is rewarded annually in five categories. The winners are determined by a reader survey, after a top-class jury comprising the industry associations of VDMA (German Engineering Federation), ZVEI (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association), BHE (Federal Association for Safety Engineering), and TÜV (German Technical Inspection Agency) nominates the products designated for the reader survey.
